The FarmGirl’s Mint Lemonade

  • Author: Kasha

Description

Try this mint lemonade for your next event, or just keep it in the fridge to help you cool off on a hot summer’s day. You can even make it into ice cubes!

Ingredients

Scale

The Farm Girl’s Mint Lemonade
1 cup Mint Simple Syrup
1/23/4 cup fresh lemon juice
About 4 cups water or a combination of water and ice

Instructions

Mix the syrup and lemon juice in a pitcher or large jar. Add in water and ice. Taste and adjust – some people prefer VERY tart and others prefer VERY sweet.

Mint Simple Syrup
Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Immediately remove from heat, then stir in 1 cup of clean mint leaves (a big, generous handful). Let the syrup cool completely, strain through a strainer lined with a coffee filter, then store in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Use any combination of lemons, limes, grapefruit, or oranges for a different flavor.
  • Add your favorite liquor to the finished lemonade for a refreshing spritzer.
  • Use the Mint Simple Syrup to flavor cocktails or to drizzle over fruit salad.
  • Peppermint syrup is fantastic to sweeten your favorite iced tea.
